How to Send an SMS Text Message Using Yahoo

• Yahoo Instant Message Service

1. In order to send an SMS text message, you need to download Yahoo's Instant Message Service if you don't have it already. This article will assume you have Yahoo's Instant Message service downloaded.

2. Open the Yahoo instant message service and log in using your username and password.

3. Once you have logged in, navigate to the option on the top menu bar that says "Actions" and click on it. Then scroll down to "Send an SMS Message".

4. The SMS Message window will open. Unless you already have mobile phone numbers already listed under contacts, click on the "Other Contact" tab and enter the mobile phone that you want to send an SMS text message to, then click OK.

5. A window just about identical to an instant message window will open allowing you to type in the SMS text message that you want to send. Type in your message and click "send".

Tips & Warnings

• You will only be able to send an SMS text message 144 characters in length.
