The point of a Zen garden is to release all of your stress by raking the sand. When you don't have the time or space to create a large Zen garden, a miniature one can do the job. Using household items, you can make a miniature Zen garden for your office or home. Over time, the sharp corners of anger and frustration will become rounded with relaxation.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cardboard jewelry box
  • 3 or 4 small stones
  • Play sand
  • 1 can of black spray paint
  • 1 breather mask
  • 1 plastic fork
  1. Step 1

Fill the necklace box about mid-level full of sand.

  2. Step 2

Use a can of spray paint to paint the small stones black. Let them sit for about an hour to dry.

  3. Step 3

After the hour is up, you can place the stones in the necklace box full of sand.

  4. Step 4

Using the plastic fork, you can now rake the sand in the Zen garden in any way you please.

Tips & Warnings
  • The rocks don't have to be painted black; you can substitue with flint stones, white stones, or any kind of stones or rocks you please.
  • When using spray paint, or any kind of paint, ensure you are in a well ventilated area. Paint fumes can be hazardous to your health. Use a breather mask when using the spray paint to help cut the fumes down even more.
