You can assign different drive letters to each partition.

You can create multiple partitions on a single hard drive that allows you to install multiple operating systems on the same drive. You can do this without creating any conflicts between the different operating systems. It is important to know how many operating systems will be installed on the hard drive before you begin partitioning. Create partitions that are large enough to support the operating system installed on the drive and any additional programs and files you may want to add.

Instructions

    • 1

Right-click the "Computer" icon on your desktop.

    • 2

      Select the "Manage" option.

    • 3

Click on the "Disk Management" option under the "Storage" heading on the left side of the window.

    • 4

Locate your hard drive in the list presented to you. Right-click on the name of the drive and select "New Partition."

Click the "Next" button when the "New Partition Wizard" screen appears.

    • 6

Select "Primary partition" and click the "Next" button.

Insert the CD, DVD or other media into your computer that contains the first operating system.

    • 12

Launch the installation file and follow all of the instructions that appear on the screen.
