How to Make a Music Card

Christmas music card

Cards that have a music feature are nice to send and a delight to receive. They are very costly in the card store and it can be hard to find one that fits the message you wish to send. You can make your own music card. Music buttons can be found in paper crafting and scrapbooking supply stores or at eBay stores. They are appropriate for birthdays, Christmas, Fourth of July and many other types of greeting cards.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Cut and fold the card stock to the size you want. Use a bone folder or craft stick for a crisp, professional fold.

    • 2

Decide if the music button will be adhered inside the card or on the card cover. Center the button and trace around the form with a pencil. Set it aside.

    • 3

Choose a die cut or make an inked image that will completely cover the music button. Cut out the piece.

    • 4

Choose a mat for the front or center of the card. Adhere a die cut to it if you want.

    • 5

Use pop dots or foam double-sided tape to adhere the music button to the mat or die cut.

    • 6

Adhere the featured die cut to the card with more of the pop dots placed at the sides of the music button. You can also attach small pieces of pop dots directly to the music button. Carefully press the die cut in place on top of the music button.

    • 7

Finish the card with trim, ribbon, an inked message and a small note that tells the recipient to press the item to play the music.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you can see the music button from the sides, cover it with ribbon, fiber or another embellishment.

  • Be sure to protect the music button if this is going to be sent through the mail.
