Clear your headlights
Clear your headlights

Higher mileage vehicles often have foggy headlights. This is due to the constant bombardment they receive from dust particles and road debris. Clearing up those foggy headlights can really improve the look and resale value of your automobile. I have a quick fix that will clear up your foggy headlights in under a minute!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Motor oil (10W-30 is fine)
  • Clean rag
  1. Step 1

Dip your finger into the motor oil, make sure you get a decent amount onto your fingers. To clear your headlights you're probably going to need several fingers worth of oil.

  2. Step 2

Rub the oil onto your foggy headlight covers. Make sure to get oil all over the headlight cover that you want to be clear. Try to avoid getting oil on anything else.

  3. Step 3

Polish the foggy headlight cover with a clean rag. It shouldn't take very much polishing just a few quick rubs. Just keep polishing until it looks clear.

  4. Step 4

It should now look almost as clear as the day you bought the car! Keep in mind that your clear headlights will only last an hour or two, so it’s very useful if you want to sell your car, but don’t have time to buy new clear headlight covers.

Tips & Warnings
  • This is a great technique to use when you sell your car
  • Motor oil can stain you clothes so you should wear something that you can get dirty in.
