How to Make Passover Orange-Nut Cake

Try this Passover Orange-Nut Cake,its really delicous and not that hard to make at all.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 8 eggs separated
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1 tsp. grated orange rind
  • 1 1/4 cup sifted Passover cake meal
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup finally chopped nuts
  1. Step 1

    Beat egg yolks until they are thick and lemon colored. Gradually add the sugar and beat after each addition until mixture is light but very thick.

  2. Step 2

    Add orange juice and beat about 3 minutes with a electric mixer. Stir in the orange rind.

  3. Step 3

    Sift cake meal salt and cinnamon together then add the nuts and mix lightly. Fold the dry ingredients gently into the beaten egg yolks. Beat egg white until stiff but not dry and gently fold into cake batter blending well.

  4. Step 4

    Turn into a 9-inch or 10- inch ungreased tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until done. Remove from the oven invert pan and cool cake before removing from pan. Top with whipped cream or orange sauce.

  5. Step 5

    Orange Sauce
    1 tbsp potato starch
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp grated orange rind
    1 cup orange juice

    Combine potato starch, sugar salt and orange rind in saucepan and gradually stir in orange juice. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
