Freeze A Ham
Freeze A Ham

With holiday cooking, there is often an abundance of leftovers. What to do with all of the leftovers? Ham is versatile and can be used for everything from breakfast to a repeat of dinner. Here are some tips on freezing your leftover ham.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ham leftovers
  • knife
  • plastic freezer bags
  • air tight containers
  • clear plastic wrap
  1. Step 1

Any leftover ham that will not be eaten within 2-4 days, should be frozen immediately. Select how much of the ham you will freeze. Chop and cut ham into bite-size cube pieces. Wrap them tightly in a piece of plastic wrap and place in zip lock bag.

  2. Step 2

If you prefer to leave the ham in slices, take each slice and wrap separately in plastic wrap. Place slices in freezer containers. Wrapping slices separately will make it easier to thaw just the amount you need easily.

  3. Step 3

Your ham should be easy to thaw and ready to use in everything from casseroles to soups. Keeping the slices separate, makes it easier to use just the amount you need.

Tips & Warnings
  • Leftover cubed ham works great in quiches.
  • Use your sliced ham pieces for a quick breakfast along with scrambled eggs.
  • Don't forget to label the meat with date it was frozen.
  • Ham should freeze and keep for up to 3 months.
