How to Compare an SUV
Before buying a new car, it is important to know what you are getting. But equally important is knowing the difference between the different makes and models. SUVs come in many different shapes, sizes and colors. There are large SUVs and mini SUVs. Before making a purchase, it is wise to compare different aspects of the vehicles so you know you are getting the most vehicle for your money. .

Access Automotive.com on the Internet (see Resources). Click on "new cars," and then "compare." Choose "SUV."

Select a manufacturer to see a list of the available SUVs. For example; click on the link for Ford. A page loads that gives you a list of the 2008 and 2009 models on 5 different Ford SUVs.

Click on one of the listed models to view a page comparison of four different SUV vehicles. For example; click on the link for the 2009 Ford Escape. View three more SUV models that closely compare to the Ford Escape. You can change any one of the four car models by clicking on the pull down menus next to their names.

Scroll down the page to read the price comparison, engine size, horsepower, torque, valves, displacement, compression ratio, and bore X stroke of each vehicle. Each SUV on the page is compared to the others. If you change any one of the vehicles in your list, brand new information will appear.

Continue down the page to compare car exterior, interior dimensions, payload and towing, steering, suspension and brakes. You can read about how each SUV compares with the others in safety, seats, roofs, windows, mirrors and wipers.
