I have used this same recipe for years and it makes the best Irish Coffee there is. Other recipes pale in comparison. Make a batch for you and your friends and see what Irish coffee really is suppose to taste like.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Whipping Cream
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Vanilla
  • Coffee
  • Water
  • Irish whiskey or brandy
  • granulated sugar
  1. Step 1

First beat the whipping cream, powdered sugar and vanilla in a small chilled bowl until stiff and then refrigerate. You can make your own whipped cream by whipping heavy cream until stiff peaks form. You must use a chilled, small bowl or it will not whip up correctly. For tips on making the whipping cream, please see my article on How to Make Whipping Cream from Scratch.

  2. Step 2

Make your pot of coffee, like you usually do or see my article on How to Make a Good Pot of Coffee.

  3. Step 3

Heat of the Irish coffee glasses by rinsing them under boiling water and letting them drain.

  4. Step 4

Then put two tablespoons of whiskey and one or two tablespoons of granulated sugar in each mug and stir.

  5. Step 5

Pour your hot coffee into each mug and top it with the whipped cream.
