Step 1
You can increase the productivity of your employees by keeping distractions away from the office.
-
Step 2
Internet browsing. A computer in the cubicle and unlimited internet browsing will distract your employees from focusing on the actual work. It is good to filter out some websites that are unrelated to work to increase productivity.
-
Step 3
meetingsToo many meetings. Meetings are important for a company, but planning a lot of meetings in one day seriously decrease productivity. Important issues should be discussed in the meeting however meetings should be limited to increase productivity.
-
Step 4
Telephone. Constant telephone can seriously affect productivity in your office especially when you expect your staff to answer them in a timely manner. It is better in this case to hire a telephone person that's responsible for answering the phone, transferring and taking notes from customers. By adding an extra staff in your office, you will increase the productivity of the office overall.
-
Step 5
noisesNoise from the office and outside. While you cannot control the noise levels outside of the office, it is important to keep your office free of noise. It is easy to get distracted from noises in the office such as someone's personal telephone conversation, or other coworkers chatting.
-
Step 6
Kids in the office. If one of your employees tells you that he/she needs to bring their kids with them to work for one day, tell them to stay at home instead. Kids can be a major distraction not only for the parent but for other workers as well. Increase the productivity of your company by not allowing kids in the office under any circumstances.

on 12/1/2008 Great article. Don't I know about the too many meetings!! When my last company was building a new building they actually talked about getting rid of offices and just building conference rooms. LOL!! And they were serious...

on 12/1/2008 greast job-- productivity is expected to decrease due to stress at work and home (economy). Verbally and physically rewarding (gifts) employees also helps increase productivity
