Open your internet browser and copy and paste the following address in your address bar http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html?part=dl-AVGAntiVir&subj=dl&tag=button and hit enter.

Click on Download Now.

If you are using Internet explorer continue to next steps If you are using Mozilla Firefox skip to step:8

Your download should begin. Click Save on the dialog box.

In the Save As dialog box select a place to save the file I usually just save to my desktop and delete it or move it later.

Next click on Run.

Click Run on the Security Warning dialog box.

Click on Save File.

When download is complete, double click on the downloaded file in the download list.

After file extraction is complete the installation will begin. Select your language and click on Next.

At this step you might get a warning about applications that are outdated. Follow the steps to update any applications listed. Then click on next.

Click on Accept on the Acceptance Notice.

Click Accept on License Agreement.

Select the Standard Installation type and click Next.

Click on Next to activate your AVG Free License

Click on Yes to install the AVG Security Toolbar and click on Next.

Review the Setup Summary and click on Finish to begin the installation.

The installation process will begin. If the installation process detect interfering applications, close all open applications listed and click on Next. The Installation will continue.

When installation completes Click on OK.

After the installation is complete, the AVG First run wizard will start. Click on Next to begin the wizard.

With the free version you are only allowed one scheduled update per day. Select the time you would like the scheduled update to run and click on Next.

Click on Yes to agree to the privacy agreement and click on Next.

Click on yes if you would like to change your default search engine to Yahoo! If you would like to keep your settings just click on Next.

Click on next if you would like to get the latest updates. If not click on skip. I recommend getting the latest updates.

If you selected to get the updates the update will begin. When it has completed, click on Next.

If you would like to register click on Register AVG Anti-Virus Free and fill out the form and submit. Otherwise click on Next.

The Wizard is complete. Click on Finish.
