Everyone knows there’s going to be an apocalypse. If it’s not zombies (and really, why wouldn’t it be zombies?), it will be something. Few people are going to survive the initial wave of destruction. Those that do should be prepared. There are things you are going to have to know in order to survive. I can’t teach you all of them, but I can help give you a head start.

A lean-to could be very useful if you ever find yourself out in the elements in need of shelter. Because you didn't have a proper zombie plan. How sad. I'll teach you how, don't worry.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A pocket knife. Maybe. Probably not.
  • Eyes. You're going to be finding the rest.
  1. Step 1

Find a fallen log, or really, anything else that you can lean sticks against and get under. Easy.

  2. Step 2

Find several sticks long enough to lean against your log. Lean them against your log. Duh. After you do this, crawl under them and make sure that your sticks leave you (and your significant other if you were good enough to save them) enough room to lay down underneath.

  3. Step 3

Pile smaller leaves and twigs on top of the sticks already down. The idea here is to lay down stuff big enough that it doesn't fall down into your shelter, but small enough that you can pile even smaller leaves and twigs on top of that to help insulate.

  4. Step 4

Well, it's not like I didn't tell you in the last step. Pile smaller leaves and twigs on to of that, to keep the rain, cold, whatever out. It will also help camouflage you against prying eyes. If that's important to you. And it should be.

Tips & Warnings
  • Nothing. This is pretty easy.
  • Don't wait until it's raining to build it. Come on.

on 12/23/2008 yeah, this is an easy one, something that is only temporary measure, say, while you're going somewhere else.
