Things You'll Need:
- Computer with internet connection
- Reasonably priced thrift store/antique shop
- Love of all things Scottie
-
Step 1
Begin by deciding what type of Scottie collectibles you are looking for. Do you want everything Scottie or are you only interested in vintage paintings and prints? Maybe vintage liquor ads with Scotties on them are your passion.
-
Step 2
Once you know what you are looking for, head to eBay. Do a search for Scottie, Scotty, or Scottish Terrier and the type of collectible you are looking for. After you look through the listings, choose another variation of Scottie and search again. People spell Scottie several different ways and you may just find a treasure most people didn't see under a misspelled or less popular variation of the breed name.
-
Step 3
Note the starting price and the availability of pieces you are interested in. If 25 people have a rare Scottie blotter listed, it isn't rare. Find the cheapest auction for an item that is listed multiple times and look closely at the listing to be sure the item is in great condition and there are no big packing fees to worry about. Place your bid and cross your fingers. As long as no one outbids you, you'll have your first Scottie collectible.
-
Step 4
Set up alerts so you can easily keep track of new Scottie collectible auctions being listed in the future. This way, you'll be able to quickly check your email each day to see if there are any listings you'll want to bid on.
-
Step 5
To fill holes in your collection, check for Scottish Terrier collectibles in local thrift and antique stores. You can sometimes find reasonably priced pieces to add to your collection.

on 12/9/2008 Aww, reminds me of my Mom who loved Scotties. I might have to add to her collection now in her memory :)
