How to Keep a Litter Box with Non-Scoopable Litter
Do you love your cat, but hate scooping the litter? You could get one of those fancy self-cleaning litter pans, or go with regular non-clumping litter for a low maintenance solution to your cat's hygiene needs
Things You'll Need
- cat litter
- cat litter pan
- litter pan liners
- baking soda(optional)
- cat (not required, but makes more sense if you have one)
Instructions
-
-
1
Fit liner across the bottom of your cat's litter box.
-
2
Add a layer of non-scoopable cat litter across the bottom. I use Jonnycat most of the time. It costs me less than $2 for a 14 pound bag and I get two changes from a bag. For extra freshness sprinkle a bit of extra baking soda on the litter

3
Replace the privacy cover if you have one. (Cat's really like having a provacy cover)
-
4
At least once a week, take the liner out of the pan and put into the garbage to take out. If you have more than one cat you may have to do this more often.
-
5
Repeat steps one through four.

Tips & Warnings
Use draw string liners if possible to limit contact with the litter
Take your garbage out ASAP after changing the litter
If your cat still has claws make sure you have the garbage extra close when transferring the full liner into the garbage, as there may be holes in the bottom at the end of the week
Always wash your hands after cleaning your cat's litter box
