Create an Advent Wreath
Create an Advent Wreath

For those who celebrate the season of Advent you will need the traditional wreath. Instead of purchasing one that is pre-made why not get the entire family involved and create a unique Advent wreath to use for years to come.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Basket
  • Christmas Greenery
  • Red Ribon
  • Green Floral Foam
  • 3 White and One Purple Taper Candle
  1. Step 1

Begin with a round basket. This will be the base for your wreath and hold all of the other items into place beautifully. It is best to use one without a handle since you will be lighting taper candles which may be too close for safety.

  2. Step 2

Place floral foam in the bottom of the basket. This is how you will secure your candles and greenery. If you choose to use live greenery you will be able to moisten this foam as needed to help it stay fresh. Artificial decor will work equally well though.

  3. Step 3

Begin by placing your candles at each "corner" of the basket. They should be relatively evenly spaced. Each candle should be pressed firmly into the floral foam and will stand up securely.

  4. Step 4

Place the greenery you have selected around the candles in an even fashion. Press the stems into the floral foam and they will be held securely. Cover any gaps with bows made from your ribbon.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use ornaments, bows or any other type of decorations to make this wreath uniquely yours.
  • Make certain that candles are not left unattended as they can be a fire hazard.
