Cheap designer clothes may sound like a contradiction in terms, but there are places that sell designer clothing for less than you'd pay for it in a retail store. Here's a look at the best prospects for cheap designer clothes for kids and adults.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Shop at SmartBargains.com. This site is full of designer clothing that is sold for a real bargain. The site is also a trusted site that doesn't sell knockoffs. There are small sites out there that try to sell their designer knock offs as the real thing. This isn't one of them. They sell many designer brands for women and men as well as shoes and accessories and all for cheap.

  2. Step 2

Try eBay. The competition on eBay is so fierce for clothing sellers that sellers try to price their clothing as low as possible. Many people are selling clothes that they no longer like, can't fit into anymore or that they received as a gift. Their main objective is to make a few bucks and to free up their closet space. It's possible to pick up designer clothes, handbags and shoes for barely a fraction of the retail price.

  3. Step 3

Look through Bluefly.com. This site does sell designer clothing for cheaper than retail, but some of the discounts may not be as steep as with the sites mentioned above. Getting 10 percent off the retail price is pretty typical for this site for some designers, though others have clothing discounted 50 percent or more.

  4. Step 4

Join Ideeli.com. The site has deep discounts on designer handbags, jewelry and clothing. It also has giveaways of free items from time to time. They require an invitation to join the site. You can join through an invitation here: http://www.ideeli.com/in/invitation?invitation=wtl3in

  5. Step 5

Take a trip to outlet malls. Designers use outlet malls as a way to move their discontinued items and overstocks. Check PrimeOutlets.com and TangerOutlet.com for locations of some of the best outlet shopping centers. Most states have at least one area that is known for outlet shopping. If you haven't yet visited one of them, it's worth a look.

  6. Step 6

Shop thrift stores. What? That's right- if you know where to look, you can pick up some serious bargains on designer clothes. The thrift stores in the best, most upscale neighborhoods are often stocked with cheap designer clothes because that's what people in the area are donating. They need to clear out their closets like everyone else, and their designer items have to go to make room for the new season's looks. You can scoop up some great designer clothing by searching these stores regularly.
