With more and more items these days coming prepackaged and fewer people knowing how and making homemade foods and beverages its time to get back to basics. This hot chocolate mix dates back at least to 1973 in my family and was passed from my grandmother to me. This makes a great mix to have around for cold winter days as well as could make a great gift for someone you know. This is a basic recipe but there are many touches that could be added to make it unique to personal preferences.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 - 8 qt. box dry milk
  • 1 large box Nestle Quick Mix
  • 1 large jar coffee creamer
  • 1 cup sugar
  1. Step 1

Mix powdered milk, Nestle Quick mix, coffee creamer, and sugar all together in a bowl.

  2. Step 2

Get your mugs ready with a cup of hot water inside each. Add 2 tablespoons of mix to each mug for delicious homemade cocoa. If you made the mix for a gift, skip this step and see next step.

  3. Step 3

To give as a gift, find a jar with lid or another airtight container such as a holiday decorated tin. Decorate the container for the holiday and you could even attach the recipe to pass on the giving!

  4. Step 4

If you are keeping the mix, find an airtight container to store the mixture in for long term storage.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add marshmallows, candy cane pieces, etc. to your mix to personalize it
