How to Make Almond Jelly Dessert

Are you tired of the same old gelatin recipes? This delicious, refreshing almond jelly is popular in Asian countries. It is similar to a dessert you may find in dim sum places. You can serve this dessert with fresh lychees, mandarin oranges or sliced peaches.

Things You'll Need

• 3 envelopes of unflavored gelatin
• 4 cups water
• 2 tablespoons almond extract
• 1 cup milk
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 1 can of longans or fresh lychees (optional)
• 3 cups water for syrup
• 3/4 cup sugar for syrup
• crushed ice or ice cubes

Instructions

1. Dissolve 3 envelopes of unflavored gelatin in 4 cups boiling water.

2. Add 2 tablespoons of the almond extract, 3/4 cup sugar and 1 cup milk.

3. Mix well, then pour into a rectangular glass baking dish.

4. Let it cool or refrigerate to harden.

5. When set, cut into cubes.

6. Prepare syrup by boiling 3 cups water and 3/4 cup sugar. Mix until dissolved.

7. Serve almond jelly cubes in a serving bowl with longans or fresh lychees (optional) in syrup and ice. You may also serve almond jelly cubes with a can of fruit cocktail or sliced peaches, mandarin oranges, grapes or strawberries.
