Things You'll Need:
- An undecorated broom for weddings
- hot glue gun
- beads,flowers, tulle,ribbon
- other decorative notions
-
Step 1
undecorated broomPurchase a broom. You can go to any arts and crafts store or even online. Expect to spend no more than $20.
-
Step 2
Again, go to your friendly arts and crafts place and purchase a hot glue gun, beads, ribbon, flowers, tulle, and any decorations that fit in with the theme of your wedding. For instance, if your wedding flowers are going to be pink lillies, buy faux pink lillies for the broom and start from there.
-
Step 3
Lay all of the goods in front of you and visualize how you want the broom to look. This is usually the hardest part. I normally look thru magazines or online for ideas of what I want the finished product to look like.
-
Step 4
Begin by wrapping the entire broom handle in ribbon. You can hot glue the ribbon to the broom handle as you go along but be careful not to wrinkle the ribbon.
-
Step 5
a bendable flower sprayNext, begin by gluing the tulle, ribbon or fake flowers to the portion of the broom below the handle. Usually I pull the fake flowers off of the wired stem and glue them directly on to the broom. You can also add pearls or glass beads if you like.
-
Step 6
Finally, be very careful when handling the finished product. It takes a long to time to get the broom just the way you like it and you don't want the beads to come off or the flowers to get smashed.
