Have you ever put a screw or a nail into the wall to hang something and hit nothing on the other side. You want to item to go here but the drywall is not enough to hold its weight. Here's the solution.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A drill
  • A set of drilling bits
  • plastic drywall anchors
  • a hammer
  • screw
  1. Step 1

Mark the spot on the wall were you want the hanging screw to go with a pencil.

  2. Step 2

Drill a whole with the size bit specified by the drywall anchor box. A masonry bit works better on drywall.

  3. Step 3

Place in the plastic drywall anchor (found in the hardware section of all local hardware stores). Push it in as far as you can with your fingers. Then gentally tap with the hammer the remaining shaft until the lip is pressed up against the wall.

  4. Step 4

Now take the screw that came with the anchor and screw it in with a drill driver to desired depth. Now you are ready to hang your picture.
