An electric toothbrush can make a big difference in your smile! So, you've still got all your own teeth, huh? Well, that's pretty special! The older you get the more important it is to take really good care of them. Once they're gone it's painful and expensive to replace them. And there's nothing like the real thing when it comes to your body parts. One of the basics of good dental care is your toothbrush, and one of the best investments you can make is a good, rechargeable electric toothbrush. The brand really doesn't matter but you'll want to compare electric toothbrushes to make sure you're getting all the best features.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

An important feature of any electric toothbrush is that it should be easily recharged. Most electric toothbrushes come with a separate base for charging. You can easily brush twice a day for two weeks in between charging.

  2. Step 2

Some electric toothbrushes such as the Braun Oral B Vitality come with a small, round brush for a deeper, cleaning of individual teeth. The Sonicare Electric Toothbrush has a larger, more typical brush. It's really a matter of individual choice. Not everyone would be comfortable with the smaller brush.

  3. Step 3

One of the most important features to this tooth brush expert is the timer feature found on many electric tooth brushes. All dental care providers recommend a minimum of two minutes brushing for good oral hygiene. At the end of two minutes brushing, a tooth brush with a timer sends a little signal you have reached the minimum recommended brushing time! Otherwise, you just might be cutting yourself a little bit short on the brushing!

Tips & Warnings
  • Compare prices in your weekend newspaper
  • Drugstore chains or Walmart may have the best pricing
  • Start out on the slowest speed to allow time for your teeth and gums to adjust
