Things You'll Need:
- Bottle of fabric softener (your choice)
- Large bucket (5 gallon is what we use, because it comes with a lid)
- Two or three old wash clothes
-
Step 1
Take all of your supplies to the kitchen.
-
Step 2
Pour the entire bottle of fabric softener into the large bucket.
-
Step 3
Fill the fabric softener bottle up twice, dumping it each time into the large bucket. (You will have a ratio of 2 parts water to one part fabric softener.)
-
Step 4
Stir the mixture well.
-
Step 5
Put the old wash cloths into the bucket and leave them there.
-
Step 6
Move the bucket to your laundry room.
-
Step 7
The next time you wash clothes, put your load of laundry into the dryer and open your bucket to take out one of the wash cloths. Wring it out so that it's not dripping wet, and toss it in the dryer with your laundry.
-
Step 8
Dry the clothes as you usually do.
-
Step 9
When you remove your frugally-softened clothes from the dryer, toss the wash cloth back into the bucket of diluted fabric softener.
