Instructions

    • 1

Rinse the parsley or cilantro under cold water as soon as you bring it home. Shake the water off and blot gently in a clean dish towel or paper towel. Let it air dry for awhile.

    • 2

Trim an inch or two off the stems at the bottom of the bunch. You don't cook with this part and it tends to rot.

    • 3

Open the bunch and loosen the stems from one another a bit. You might need to blot the herbs dry again after loosening the bunch.

    • 4

Take one to three fresh, dry paper towels and loosely wrap the bunch inside it. Just roll the paper into a cone around the parsley or cilantro and tuck in the top.

    • 5

Put the towel-wrapped parsley or cilantro into a resealable bag or the produce bag you brought the herbs in from the store. Put the bag in your vegetable drawer and make sure nothing is on top of it or squashing it.
