Things You'll Need:

- 1 1/2 cup Butter, softened
- 3 cups Sugar
- 5 Eggs
- 3 cups Flour
- 2 teaspoons Lemon extract
- 3/4 cup 7UP
- Frosting
- 1 stick of butter at room temperature
- 1/2 cup of vegetable shortening
- 4 cups of confectionary powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of lemon abstract
- 1-2 tablespoons of water

Step 1
Cream butter and sugar until smooth.

Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Add flour, lemon extract, and 7UP; mix well.

Pour into greased angel food (or bundt) pan.

Let stand for at least 10 minutes before removing from cake pan.

Gather together all ingredients for the frosting.

In a mixing bowl, beat together butter and shortening.

Add powdered sugar to butter mixture one cup at a time. Make sure each cup of sugar is well incorporated (well blended) before adding the next cup.
