Step 1
Fill out the online ticket request form at the CBS/Late Show website. (http://lateshow.cbs.com/latenight/lateshow/show_info/tickets/form/). You can request a maximum of two tickets.
-
Step 2
Once you've submitted your request online, you just have to wait. Hopefully, The Late Show audience department will contact you to let you know that tickets are available for you on the date you requested.
-
Step 3
Be aware that you can be contacted at any time, starting the day after you submit your request, up to the day before the show.
-
Step 4
If tickets are available, the tickets are not necessarily yours yet. To secure the tickets when you're contacted, you must first answer a random trivia question about The Late Show with David Letterman. If you answer the trivia question correctly, you will receive the pair of tickets.
-
Step 5
Know that you must be at least 18 years old to be in the audience, and people may not request tickets more than once per six months.
-
Step 6
If you are in NYC, you can request your tickets in person. To request your tickets in person, go to 1697 Broadway
Between West 53rd and West 54th Streets. In person tickets are processed Monday - Thursday: 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (anyone arriving before 9am will be turned away and will not receive tickets). Tickets requested in person may be requested for shows on that day, up to one month in advance. -
Step 7
Get standby tickets. Standby tickets can be requested by calling (212) 247-6497 beginning at 11am on the day of the show you'd like to attend. Standby phone lines will remain open for only 30-60 minutes. Your name will be placed on a standby list. You'll then have to arrive at The Late Show with David Letterman studio approximately one hour before the show starts taping. You'll be allowed admission if open seats remain after all ticket holders have been seated.
