Things You'll Need:
- Nuts
- Christmas Cards
- Teddy Bears
- Pomanders
- Popcorn
- Berries
- Childrens Art
- Fruit
-
Step 1
Christmas CardsTake your Christmas cards from last year and put a hole punch through them. Put a ribbon through the hole and tie it in a nice bow. Hang them on your Christmas Tree. If some of the cards or too large, using pinking sheers, cut them to a smaller size.
-
Step 2
Teddy BearGather your child's teddy bears or go to the thrift store and purchase teddy bears. You can turn them into Christmas Teddy bears by putting a red ribbon around their neck or adding raffia wings or Santa hats.
-
Step 3
PopcornPop up some popcorn and have everyone sit down for family night and string the popcorn together. You can also use cranberries. Make two and wrap the other around the garland on your fireplace mantel.
-
Step 4
Childs ArtHave your kids draw Christmas reindeer and Santa and cut them out and laminate them. Make a hole on the top with a hole punch, add a ribbon and outline with some squeeze glitter and you have an instant Christmas ornament. Also see my article on How to Use Children's Art for Christmas Gifts.
-
Step 5
Pine coneGo on a nature walk and gather dropped nuts and acorns and pine cones. Spray on a little gold paint or glitter or leave natural. Glue on a ribbon and hang them from the tree.
-
Step 6
BerriesCut some branches off of your bushes that have berries on them and push the branch into your tree to add color to your Christmas tree.
-
Step 7
Christmas biscuitTry putting food on your tree, with crackers, cookies and pretzels. Don't forget your best friend and tie some of his dog biscuits to the tree.
-
Step 8
PomanderMake your own Pomanders and hang them from your tree. See my article on How to Make Pomanders to learn how. You can also use ribbon and criss cross it around an apple or lime and then hang it in your tree.
