Many dogs such as the Golden Retriever, the Poodle etc get very dirty ears. This guide will tell you how to clean your dogs ears properly and well so you get all the wax out!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ear Cleaner see UPCO.com/KVVet.com... for a cleaner
  • Dog
  • A few moments of your day
  1. Step 1

Bring your dog and the ear cleaner in the kitchen, bathroom, somewhere so that if a bit of cleaner drips out you an wipe it up. make sure your dog is in the mood, if you have a dog that detests ear cleaning then try to condition the ear cleaner first, use a treat and the cleaner together, treat at the sight of the cleaner then treat while touching the ear, etc...

  2. Step 2

Hold your dogs ear up and curve your hand around the base of the ear (the more open part). Squirt the cleaner into the ear, don't let your dog shake his/her head. Gently squeeze and massage the dogs ear, you will hear the fluid move in there, that's ok. You want to make sure you massage it into the canal because the wax within the canal can be very hard to get out, so rub it in good!!!

  3. Step 3

Now if the cleaner requires a swabbing do so, if not you are done.

Tips & Warnings
  • You might want to do this after a bath.
  • Bathing may cause excess water in the ear, plug ears with cotton for bath if that's the case.
  • Make sure ear cleaning is ok for your dog, if a Vet has ever said not to then don't do it.
