How to Make 10-minute No Sew Curtains

How to Make 10-minute No Sew Curtains thumbnail
Cut your fabric 2 inches longer on each side for hemming.

Curtains are a simple project if you want to learn to sew, but if you have no intention of sitting in front of a sewing machine, you can still create a set of dashing curtains using an iron and fusing tape for clean hems instead of a needle and thread. Set your iron heat depending on what type of fabric you use. Light, sheer fabrics like silk and nylon need a very low heat setting. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Measure your window or doorway for correct curtain height and width. Add 2 inches on each side, since you'll hem your fabric. Measure twice.

    • 2

Cut your fabric to the correct dimensions using a pair of fabric scissors.

    • 3

Apply iron-on hem tape on the last 2 inches of fabric on one side. Press it firmly and as even as possible along one side. Fold over the taped hem, a bit at a time, and iron the fabric to itself. Fuse the fabric all along one side of the panel. Repeat this step for each side of both curtain panels until all sides of the panels are hemmed.

    • 4

      Iron the curtain panels.

    • 5

Mount a curtain rod in your desired area according to the manufacturer instructions. Use a bar-style rod you can hang hooks on, similar to a shower curtain.

    • 6

Clasp on a set of decorative clip-on curtain hooks along the top of the panels.

    • 7

Hang up your finished curtain panels on the rod.
