There are so many gorgeous eyeshadow colors made by Urban Decay. How do you choose which one will look as good on you as it does in the store?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take your skin tone into consideration. The darker your skin tone, the brighter the color eye shadow you can wear. Urban decay has some really bright eyeshadows, so this is important if you are wearing it to work and don't want a dramatic look.

  2. Step 2

Think about where you will be wearing your Urban Decay eyeshadow. If you are going to a club, wear bright colors regardless of your skin tone! If you are going to work, tone it down. Unless, of course, you work at the club!

  3. Step 3

Think about the image you want to project. If you are in your forties, you can still wear Urban Decay, but you might want to pass on the bright blue color.

  4. Step 4

Take into account the color of your eyes. Purple eyeshadows look great with hazel eyes. Blue eyeshadows compliment green eyes, as do browns.

  5. Step 5

If you want a really wild look, try Peace, Graffiti, Heat or Adore. These colors will really make your eyes pop. If you wear these colors, go easy on your lipstick!

  6. Step 6

For a more sedate look, try Shag or Underground with a touch of Honey. These Urban Decay colors will work for just about every eye color!

Tips & Warnings
  • Get your eyeshadow applicator wet to make the color stronger.
  • Use an eyeshadow brush to get a softer look.
  • Be sure to use a different applicator or clean eyeshadow brush when switching colors. Urban Decay has intense eyeshadow colors!

on 12/22/2008 OMG MY FAVE! LOVE THE URBAN DECAY stuff, 'specially the pencils. I must confess to using stila powders and mineral powders though on my eyelids. STILL A GREAT ARTICLE, makes me wanna shop til my eyes pop out!
