  1. Step 1

    Here's what you have to do if you know or see someone having a seizure.

  2. Step 2

    Make sure the person is out of harms way. Make sure the person is not near anything that will harm them.

  3. Step 3

    Cushion the person's head with a pillow or jacket. So the person doesn't hurt there head.

  4. Step 4

    Loosen any tight clothing around there neck.

  5. Step 5

    Turn the person on his or her side.

  6. Step 6

    Do not restrain the person in any way.

  7. Step 7

    Do not place anything in the mouth . The person is not going to swallow their tongue.

  8. Step 8

    Observe how long the seizure lasts, what movements they make when they are having a seizure, did there eyes or head go a certain way when they started to have the seizure. These characteristics may help the doctor diagnose the type of seizure.

  9. Step 9

    Call for medical help or are related or friends with them call there doctor and tell the doctor what happened. The doctor may want the person to go to the office or the hospital. Depending on how bad the seizure or if the person got hurt while having the seizure.

  10. Step 10

    There is something everyone should know when a person has seizure they can't remember what happened when they were having the seizure that is why it is so important for those around the person to let the person know what happened while they were having the seizure because it is a very scary when they can't remember what happened. When the person comes out of the seizure some of the reactions that might occur is the person will get upset and cry, be afraid that it will occur again, will feel very tired and will want to go to sleep.
