Step 1
Cellulose glue will work on many plastics and will cure in two days. It can be applied directly.
-
Step 2
Contact cement works well when you want to bond plastic to another substance, such as wood. Apply with a (disposable) brush. Cures in only a few minutes.
-
Step 3
Superglue works on some plastics. If the plastic is very smooth, it will probably not work well. It can be applied directly from the tube. Although this adhesive famously sets in just a few seconds, it takes up to 12 hours to cure.

Step 4
Epoxy is a very strong glue that is also waterproof. It is tricky to use because you have to mix two substances together, and have a limited time to work before it gets tacky. It can set up in as little as five minutes, which is not much time when you are working. It typically takes a few days to cure. You can't beat this adhesive for strength. It is also an attractive option for items where the bond will be seen.

Step 5
Rubber-base cement. A good adhesive that works on many plastics. Has the advantage of being flexible, as well as strong and waterproof. Can be applied directly and cures in two days.

on 12/22/2008 I have heard gorilla glue works, but we're skeptical of everything because we have our broken fridge door shelf that fell off and then a critical piece broke off. GREAT! And so it sits on top of the tv as a constant reminder. I am going to have my hubby get some of that epoxy to try! thanks
