Pet odor is a huge problem among pet owners. Getting rid of those odors does not have to be all that difficult though. There are great ways that you can remove pet odors from carpet without spending tons on money on cleaning products.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

How to Get Rid of Pet Odors in Carpet using Club Soda: Gather up all of your cleaning necessities: paper towels and a bottle of club soda. Pour club soda over smelly areas, covering completely, and let sit until bubbling stops. (Then jump to step 3)

  2. Step 2

How to Get Rid of Pet Odors in Carpet using Vinegar: In a spray bottle or pourable container make a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water. Spray or pour mixture over stained and smelly area and let sit for a few minutes.

  3. Step 3

Blot up club soda or vinegar and water mixture with towels until the area is dry. This process may need to be repeated one to two more times to completely get rid of the pet odors in your carpet.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have to scrub a spot always work from the outside towards the center, to prevent spreading the odor further out into your carpet.
  • Always blot up excess water and messes instead of rubbing which can grind the stains and odors deeper into the carpet.
