Make turkey soup from the left over turkey, bones and all with only one purchased item.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cooked turkey ( bones also )
  • Lipton Noodle soup
  • Large pot
  • Large bowl
  • Cheesecloth
  • Strainer
  • Extra turkey meat if desired
  1. Step 1

Take a large pot, and place the turkey inside. Fill with enough water until you cover the turkey with about an inch of water.

  2. Step 2

Turn the heat to high until the water just begins to boil. Now reduce to simmer. Cook for 2 to 3 hours until the bones begin to soften. Use a pair of tongs to squeeze a large bone and see if it starts to crumble.

  3. Step 3

Remove the pot and pour into the strainer lined with cheese cloth into a large bowl. You now have turkey stock, which you place back into the large pot.

  4. Step 4

Put the pot back onto the stove to keep at a simmer. Any meat on the bones should have fallen off. Pick through the bones and place meat in the pot.

  5. Step 5

Add two packages of Lipton Noodle soup as per the directions. Then enjoy on a cold winter day.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add salt or seasoning after Step 5.
  • If you would like more base flavor add chick bouillon, I recommend a product called Better than Bouillon
  • If you don't have a lid, you will need to add a little water occasionally to keep the water level high enough in the pot.
  • If you use a bird that has been over cooked, it tasted dry when you ate it, it may not taste as good cause the bones have had the good stuff cooked out.
