Make a Sunset Sunrise Mimosa or Cherry Mimosa

A sunrise sunset mimosa is always a crowd pleaser. This drink looks really difficult but takes minutes. It is perfect for Brunch, cocktail hour, before dinner, after dinner, or at a party. A great all around drink that everyone loves.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bottle of champagne
  • Good quality orange juice
  • Jar of red marachino cherries.
  • Champagne flutes
  1. Step 1

Purchase your Champagne. Remember when it is mixed it will taste different than alone. I like Asti Spumante if I want a glass of champagne but if I want a Mimosa I buy extra dry.
I prefer Andre extra dry for this drink. If you prefer a sweeter drink buy a Spumante.Use Asti Spumante for a very sweet drink.

  2. Step 2

    Collect all your ingredients.
    1-Champagne
    2-Orange Juice
    3-Jar of Maraschino cherries
    4-Champagne flutes

  3. Step 3

Pour Champagne directly into glass. Fill it 3/4 of the way full.
(To cut down on the alcohol use less champagne and more orange juice)

  4. Step 4

Let the Champagne sit for just a minute to let the bubbles settle. Doing this will help prevent overflow.

  5. Step 5

Pour in orange juice to fill glass ( a little less than 1/4 glass). Leave a small amount of room to put in cherry.
    Do not stir- ever!

  6. Step 6

Take a spoonful of juice out of maraschino cherry jar. Pour spoon of juice right into top of glass. It will fall directly to the bottom creating the sunset sunrise effect.
    Do not stir!!

  7. Step 7

Put one or two cherries in glass depending on taste. They should fall right to the bottom giving you a beautiful drink.

  8. Step 8

    Drink and enjoy!!

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't stir your drink. This is layered if you stir it won't give you a pretty appearance.
  • Pick your Champagne carefully. It may take a few tries to get a good combination.
  • Use high quality orange juice. Cheap juice will lead to a bitter drink. Even sugar can't fix junky juice.
  • Don't purchase your Champagne based on price. Buy it based on taste.
  • These drinks taste really good. Drink responsibly.
  • Never drink and drive.
