Things You'll Need:
- Old textbooks
- Packaging Materials
- Access to a computer online
-
Step 1
Finish using your textbook. Make sure you note the ISBN number for this project.
-
Step 2
Perform a Google (or other search engine) search with the search terms "buy back textbook". Many results are going to pop up. http://www.etextshop.com/ is one of my favorites in case you're having trouble with the search. You probably want to look for the ones with free shipping if you have no money at the moment. If they offer free shipping via UPS, then you have a way to track your book.
-
Step 3
Type in the ISBN and search for the book. This will bring up a price that they are willing to pay you for your book. Fill in the necessary information, and they will send you a check in the mail for the price of your book.
-
Step 4
If one site does not buy your book, keep searching. This is especially true when trying to sell technical school books or old textbooks. If this still fails, and you cannot sell the book to your school's bookstore, you can place the book for sell on eBay or Amazon.com.
