Before we get started making natural cleaners, let's remember a couple things. Always start with a clean, preferably new, spray bottle or container so your new cleaner remains uncontaminated. Also, label your natural cleaner immediately after mixing it. Many of these cleaners look similar when mixed, so it may be hard to tell them apart if they aren't properly labeled.

***Natural all-purpose cleaner*** Vinegar is a great all-purpose cleaner. Mix 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water together. The vinegar smell will dissipate as the cleaner dries, but you can scent the mixture with essential oil if desired. Tea tree oil is a great disinfectant. If you prefer not to use vinegar, baking soda works great as well. Dissolve 4 tablespoons of baking soda in 1 quart of warm water for a good general cleaner. Is a soapier cleaner more to your liking? You can mix liquid castile soap with baking soda in different ratios, depending on how soapy you want your cleaner.

Or mix 1/4 cup white vinegar, 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 1 quart warm water together for an effective streak-free glass cleaner. Wipe class clean with crumpled newspaper for a lint-free finish.
