Instructions

    • 1

Clean your cooking space and prepare an area large enough to mix ingredients and lay out muffin tins. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

    • 2

Thoroughly mix the ground beef, ground sausage, medium diced onion, bread crumbs, cloves garlic (finely chopped), 1 egg, salt and pepper. The sausage adds extra flavor and helps the meatballs maintain their shape.

    • 3

Form your mixture into meatballs. Use an ice cream scooper, a soup spoon, a mixing spoon or your bare hands. For consistency in cooking, keep the size of your meatballs uniform.

    • 4

Prepare muffin tins by spraying with non-stick spay. This will allow you to flip meatballs and to brown evenly on all sides without falling apart. The muffin tin will help create an even brown and slightly crunchy exterior.

    • 5

Place your meat balls in each space of the muffin tin, then cook for 15-25 minutes, depending upon size. Rotate meatballs after 10 minutes of cooking for even browning. Cook to an internal temperature of 165 degrees.

    • 6

Remove meatballs from the pan and allow them time to sit. This will let the meatballs cool away from the excess grease. Now you can add to your favorite sauce.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are looking for a low-fat option, substitute ground chicken or ground turkey for ground beef and/or ground sausage. Be sure to use 1.5 lbs of ground meat.

  • Uncooked meat is dangerous. Test meatballs for safe temperature before serving.
