Cover Up A Big Zit (or any blemish)
Cover Up A Big Zit (or any blemish)

Prom Night. Wedding Day. Hot Date. Office Presentation. There really is no good time to wake up with a big red zit on your face but it is known to happen. If you are anything like myself, you will feel as if everyone is staring at your horrible blemish. You can A) call in sick and hide your hideousness from the general public, B) go out with a bag on your head or C) cover it up and face the world like a champion. Here are some helpful tips for those of you who pick option C.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • warm washcloth
  • mirror
  • blemish spot treatment w/ salicylic acid
  • skin clearing concealer
  • foundation powder
  • toothpaste
  1. Step 1

First things first. Wash your face. Start with a nice steamy comfortably hot washcloth. Hold it to your face for a few minutes so your face gets all the warmth. Remove any makeup and cleanse with a gentle face wash. Pat dry your face with a soft, dry towel.

  2. Step 2

AT NIGHT - With a Q Tip and a clean face, dab a small amount of fluoride toothpaste on the blemish. Leave on as long as you can. Then wipe it off with a warm washcloth.

  3. Step 3

On a clean face, dab a pea sized amount of blemish spot treatment containing salicylic acid. This should penetrate the zit with its acid-y powers and dry it out.

  4. Step 4

Next, apply a green tinted or skin tone concealer containing salicylic acid. Then, if you have a skin clearing liquid foundation, you can smooth it over the face with a sponge.

  5. Step 5

Finally, apply a liberal amount of foundation powder.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you prefer to use a product that contains benzoil peroxide instead of salicylic acid, be sure you use it during the day and wash it completely off at night. Benzoil peroxide will ruin your pillow cases!
  • If you are pregnant, be sure to consult your doctor first about what skin products are safe to use.
