Ever roast your turkey to perfection on the outside, only to find that the inside meat is dry? Well, here is a simple method that will give you a perfectly moist turkey every time!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Turkey
  • oil
  • meat thermometer
  • seasoning (optional)
  • stuffing (optional)
  1. Step 1

Rinse the turkey with cold water, making sure you drain it thoroughly. Towel dry if necessary. If your turkey is frozen, you will need to thaw it first.

  2. Step 2

Rub the turkey with cooking oil both inside and out. Sprinkle on your favorite seasonings. At this time you can stuff the turkey with your favorite stuffing. Place the meat thermometer in the fleshy part of the breast, being careful not to touch the breast bone.

  3. Step 3

In a preheated oven of 375 degrees, place the turkey in a roasting pan and cook for 15 minutes. Then turn the heat down to 325 degrees and continue to cook until the meat thermometer reaches 185 degrees or till done. If you have a pop up on the turkey, that will be sufficient to determine when the turkey is finished cooking.

Tips & Warnings
  • If the skin begins to brown too early, you can place aluminum foil over the top of the turkey.
  • You can baste the turkey after the oven is turned down to 325 degrees to give the skin an even brown color.
