It's pretty easy to keep your leather jacket looking nice. Here are some do's and don'ts for taking care of a leather jacket.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Storage is important in taking good care of your leather jacket. Always hang the jacket on either a wooden or padded hanger.

  2. Step 2

Never use plastic to cover the jacket. Always use some other type of material or cloth to keep off dust.

  3. Step 3

To avoid creases, never fold a leather jacket, or store lying flat. If you do get creases, you can try getting them out with an iron on a low setting(using thick paper between the leather and the iron) or you can try steaming creases out by leaving it in the bathroom after a hot shower.

  4. Step 4

Clean your leather jacket fully at least once a year, and spot clean as nessesary. Never immerse it in water, put it in the washing machine or dryer, or get it dry-cleaned.
