Plan A Party On A Budget

Try these party planning tips for a modest party budget.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Be your own DJ. Make some party mixes beforehand and boogie to your own hand-picked tunes. You can even tailor-make your mixes to fit the mood and theme of the party.

  2. Step 2

Invite your guests to bring a dish to pass. You will get loads of food and lots of interesting new recipes. Your guests will get to show off their specialty dishes and there will be plenty to go around.

  3. Step 3

If a cake is in demand, try making it yourself. You can make it specific to your guest-of-honor's favorite flavor and decorate it cheaper than the bakery with fun accessories found in the baking section of the store.

  4. Step 4

Make a fun flyer instead of store-bought invitations. For my first baby shower, we saved a bundle when we made a fun party flyer on bright pink paper with a marker and a copy machine.
