How to Make Jello Shots

Preparing Jell-O shots or shooters is very similar to making Jello except that it uses alcohol in place of water. To enjoy Jello shooters, you will be needing 2 cups of boiling water, 2 packs of gelatin, three-fourth cups of cold water and one and a fourth cup of chilled vodka or any type of alcohol that you desire. Note that the alcohol should be chilled and not frozen to about an hour prior to usage. Here's how to make jello shots

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

To prepare the Jello shots, first, bring the water into a boil.

  2. Step 2

After removing it from heat, pour it in a mixing bowl and stir in the powdered gelatin. Mix it completely.

  3. Step 3

Add the cold water and alcohol and stir the mixture until completely mixed. Pour the mixture into shot glasses.

  4. Step 4

If shot glasses are not available, you can also make use of plastic cups that have lids. You can also try making Jello slices by making use orange rinds that were cut into halves. This can be prepared a night before your event.

  5. Step 5

Finally, arrange your Jello shots or slices in a tray. Chill, take note, and not freeze it until the gelatin gets firm. Keep it refrigerated until served.

Tips & Warnings
  • To make more potent shots, a variation may also be done in preparing your jello shots. There is an alternative way that will make six large cups with two ounces of alcohol in each cup. To avoid evaporating the alcohol before the firming of the gelatin, keep the jello in a room temperature then add the alcohol. It is also important here to keep the alcohol very cold prior to adding.
