Rotate an Image in Paint Shop Pro (PSP) 7

Whether you need to rotate a picture a little or a lot, learn how to do so, right now.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer running Paint Shop Pro (PSP) 7
  1. Step 1

Start Paint Shop Pro, and open the image you want to rotate. At the top of the screen, look to the far left of the menu. Four from the left should be the option "Image." Click on it.

  2. Step 2

From the menu that drops down, click the third option from the top, or the "Rotate..." option.

  3. Step 3

In the window that pops up, the two sections are "Direction," and "Degrees." In the "Direction" section, choose whether you want to rotate the image to the right (clockwise) or left (counter-clockwise.)

  4. Step 4

If it's a photo that you just rotated the camera 90 degrees to take, then in the "Degrees" section, just click on the "90." To flip the image upside-down, click "180," and the "270" is just confusing. To rotate in some other increment, click on the "Free:" option, and enter how many degrees you want to rotate the image.

  5. Step 5

Check the "All layers" checkbox to rotate the whole image, or leave it unchecked to just rotate the layer you're working on. If you don't know what a layer is, make sure it's checked.

  6. Step 6

Click "OK" to rotate the image. If you don't like the results, just click the "Undo" button, and change it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Rotating 270 degrees to the right is the same as rotating 90 degrees to the left, and rotating 270 degrees to the left is the same as rotating 90 degrees to the right.
