Things You'll Need:
- Patience
- Will Power
-
Step 1
Get there early!Get to Stores Early: This is the first tip in order to survive Black Friday, get there early! If a store opens at 6am, you need to be there by 4am if you want the best deals. Sure you can wait until the middle of the day to go to the store and pick out the items you want, however; all of the items may either be damaged or picked over by the time you get there. Also know that the later you get there, the longer the line will be!
-
Step 2
Have your list in hand and ready!Have a List: In order to make good timing in the store, have a list! Write down every item that you're going to get. With all of the confusion on Black Friday, far as people going into a shopping frenzy, you must be prepared in case you forget anything. Write down the most important items at the top, these will be the most expensive. Any other items you want, write them down in the exact order as you want them. Say you want a Playstation 3 and new bed sheets, put the Playstation at the top of your list so you get it first.
-
Step 3
Skip the long lines! No Layaway: I know you may be tempted to head over to the layaway department and put some items in, however; if you want to make the best out of the sales on Black Friday, skip layaway! Layaway will take up more time than you know and if you plan on getting all of the items on your list, you must go to layaway another day. Don't let the deals pass you by while you wait in the long layaway line!
-
Step 4
Call ahead of timeCall in Advance: If you feel as though you won't be able to get to the store when it first opens on Black Friday, call in advance. I know this may seem a bit risky, but take the chance! Call and ask that certain items be placed on hold for you. A lot of stores may tell you "we can't hold items", however; offer to pay a little bit extra for the item (as a tip for them) and see what the outcome is.
-
Step 5
Go online for sales!Go Online: Many people are clueless to all of the Black Friday sales online, going on right now! Yes, there are Black Friday sales going on online as we speak! Tons of stores are already advertising about all of the upcoming or ongoing sales they have. Stores such as Circuit City, Kmart and Best Buy are already offering extremely low deals on everything.
-
Step 6
No FIGHTING!No Fighting: I know this may seem a tad bit out of place, but it must be mentioned! No fighting means, no arguing over items, no taking other people's baskets, no verbally abusing other people. Black Friday can be a stressful day for people in a rush to get their items before anyone else does. No matter what happens or what gets said, NO FIGHTING!

on 11/29/2008 Thanks for the tips. I agree with MotherDove, people can be nuts at these things! Someone was trampled to death at a Wal-Mart this year when they opened the doors for Black Friday, how tragic!
