Skin chaffing is an annoying and possibly quite painful condition that can naturally occur due to walking, type of clothing and even weather conditions. No matter why you're feeling the uncomfortable sting of chaffing, the only desire you have is to quickly eliminate this sensation and treat your skin so it can heal fast. Natural remedies for skin chaffing are easy to apply and can get rid of skin chaffing quickly.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Talcum Powder A&D Ointment Vaseline Vitamin E cream Calendula oil Cotton pads Zinc oxide paste Olive oil Soft washcloth
  1. Step 1

Apply talcum powder directly on the areas of your skin that are prone to chafing. Talcum powder will reduce the amount of friction that can build up, which causes skin chafing.

  2. Step 2

Mix 1 cup of Vaseline with 1 cup of A&D Ointment and add 2 tbsp. of vitamin E cream into the mixture. Stir these ingredients so that they are mixed together thoroughly. Apply this mixture to your skin where chafing occurs. This mixture will keep you from chafing, and will also prevent blisters from forming.

  3. Step 3

Apply calendula oil directly onto your skin after you have showered. This oil works as an anti-inflammatory, which will keep your skin from becoming irritated. This oil can be used on a daily basis, and is easily washed off with water. You can apply this oil with a cotton pad to eliminate any unnecessary mess.

  4. Step 4

Apply zinc oxide paste directly onto your skin where chafing happens. This paste will eliminate chafing and any other side effects from friction on your skin. To wash off the paste you will need to soak a cotton pad, or soft washcloth, in olive oil. Gently wipe the paste off with the olive oil and use water to finish cleaning the area.

  5. Step 5

Drink eight ounces of water every forty-five minutes when you are performing exercise or undergoing an activity that causes chaffing. Keeping your body hydrated will keep your skin from easily chaffing.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wear loose-fitting clothing to prevent friction from building up on your skin. Drink 8 oz. of water every 45 minutes when exercising or undergoing an activity that causes chaffing. By losing weight, you will prevent your skin from rubbing up against itself, such as in your thighs and arms.
  • If chafing is severe, visit your doctor immediately for proper treatment.
