This article will tell you how to stock IV and oral medications into a McKesson Acudose-RX automated drug dispensing system

  • IV/Oral Medication
  • Sign-on for system

Instructions

    • 1

      Sign into the Acudose-RX system using your given user name and PIN

    • 2

      Select the "Med Management" tab at the top of the screen

    • 3

      Press the button "Custom Restock" on the touch screen and continue

    • 4

      All the stocked meds in the Acudose-RX are listed alphabetically, select the one you want to stock and press continue

    • 5

      The Acudose-RX will open the drawer containing the med you selected and tell you what pocket it's in. Count how many are in the pocket already and add your stock.

    • 6

      The screen will ask how many you are adding, either press the number you are adding on the touch screen or press the number on the keyboard

    • 7

      The Acudose-RX will ask you to close the drawer, so do it.

    • 8

      Select sign out on the touch screen and you're done!

Tips & Warnings

  • Controlled Medications have a different procedure involving witnesses and more counting.

  • After a lot of use, the touch screen on the Acudose-RX needs to be calibrated so where you're touching is where the screen senses you touching.
