Shop at the Christmas Village, an outdoor holiday market, at Dilworth Plaza just outside of City Hall. Approximately 50 vendors sell homemade wares, seasonal gifts and European treats, among other items. Musical and theatrical events take place throughout the day, and Christmas lights bring charm to the event.

Take in the Christmas light show at Macy's. A Philadelphia tradition since 1956, this light show has various themes, including sugar-plum fairies, nutcrackers and trains, all lit up and set to music with a grand organ.

See the theatrical production of "A Christmas Carol" at the Walnut Street Theater, the oldest continuously running theater in the English-speaking world.

Enjoy a performance of "The Nutcracker" by the Philadelphia Ballet. New sets and costumes were unveiled during the 2007 season.

Meander through Dickens' Village on the third floor of Macy's. This 6,000-square-foot display features more than 100 animated figures and 26 different scenes.

Recall childhood memories of train sets going around the Christmas train at the Reading Terminal Holiday Railroad. Ten working train lines run through decorated mini-cities and the countryside, set to sights, sounds and animated actions.
