Choose the Right Hair Style for Your Face Shape

If you've been thinking of getting a new hair style, there are some things you should consider before sitting in your stylist's chair. Some styles look good on certain face shapes, but not others. Face shapes include oval, rectangle, square, round, triangle, and heart. Here are some tips to help you find a hair style that will be most flattering to your face shape.

Step 1

Look through magazines, and find models with the same face shape as you. Cut out photos of all the hair styles you like for your face shape, then eliminate the ones you like least until you are left with the best, most flattering option.
Step 2

Think of celebrities who have faces shaped like yours. Go to www.imdb.com or google images to find photos of those celebrities with different hair styles. Find the one that you think is most flattering to that face shape to find the one you like the best. (Links below under "Additional Resources.")
Step 3

Go to a website that will allow you to upload a photo of yourself. With their online software, you can try on various hair styles, until you find one that you think is the most flattering to your face shape. (Links below under "Additional Resources.")
