Help the enviroment and save on winter bills with recycled door draft stoppers

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Old tights
  • funnel
  • kitty litter, play sand, dry corn.
  • needle and thread
  • decorations
  1. Step 1

Check tights for holes or weak spots. Turn legs into each other, doubling the draft wall. This will ensure that the walls of the draft stopper are not too thin and will give extra protection due to sharp objects that might encounter your new project. It just wouldn't be pleasant to have sand or kitty litter all over your home.

  2. Step 2

Insert funnel into opening and start filling with your choice of filler. I used kitty litter, but it is your preference. Stop occasionally and squeeze the filler down to the width you wish your door stopper to be. Continue filling to the top, lengthen the tights as you go.

  3. Step 3

Keep filling until you have reached the length desired. Carefully pull out the funnel and either tie the tights shut and cut off excess or cut the excess off and sew the hole up.

  4. Step 4

embellish with buttons for eyes. Have fun decorating the draft stoppers.

Tips & Warnings
  • Kitty litter can be dusty, you might want to use a dust mask.
