Get Cash Back By Shopping With Ebates

Recently, I stumbled upon Ebates.com, an online cash back shopping company, and I wanted to share this online shopping resource with everyone. If you are looking for a way to save money any time during the year, whether it be when purchasing gifts during the holidays or to replace an old pair of jeans, let Ebates be a stopping place to help you find some great deals.

Step 1

HOW IT WORKS --
The concept is actually really simple--Sign up and create an Ebates account, then start shopping using the links to merchants on the Ebates website. For those of you familiar with MyPoints (see my resources below to learn more about MyPoints), the Ebates experience is similar. However, instead of earning points back for the purchases you make through MyPoints, you will earn back cash through Ebates. Great for those of us who would like to receive cash rather than gift cards to spend. Have you heard of cash back bonuses from using a Discover card? The idea is also the same, only with Discover you will be earning 1% back for every dollar spent (or up to 5% depending on the promotion). With Ebates, the cash back value is dependent on the merchant you make a purchase from.

For example, a subscription with Magazines.com will get you 26% cash back. If the subscription you purchase is $10, that will be $2.60 applied to your Ebates account. Plus, you can apply coupons that are available through Ebates to your purchase. And, if you do have that Discover card and the merchant accepts it as a method of payment, use it to get cash back from Discover, as well! Of course, you can always use any credit card you prefer that offers some kind of bonus (e.g. points, mileage, cash, etc.).

SIGN UP --
If you sign up now, you can get $5 cash in your new account. If you are referred by a friend, you and your friend will both receive $5 cash in your accounts. To get started, simply click on the Ebates link in the resources below. Once the Ebates site loads, type in your email address, create a password, and then press "Start Shopping".
Step 3

SET UP YOUR ACCOUNT --
Once you have registered, it is time to set up your Ebates account and let them know how you would like your payment to be received. After logging in, click on your username in the center of the main page. You will be taken to your Account page where you can set up your Payment Options, check your Payment History, create a Profile and much more.
Step 4

GET MORE WITH EBATES --
Once you have signed up, share the wealth and experience by referring friends and family, too. That way, when they sign up, you can take advantage of the $5 bonus for each friend signed. You can tell a friend through the Tell-A-Friend tab on the main page.

THE CATCHES --
Of course, after you refer a friend, the friends who sign up must make a qualifying purchase before you will be able to see the $5 bonus in your account.

Also, you will get paid via check or deposit into your PayPal account every 3 months. You must have a minimum of $5.01 in your account, too, before you will see any payment from Ebates. If your account is less than that, your money will be rolled over to the next check.

And according to Ebates.com, "Bonus Rewards do not count toward the $5.01 minimum. The term 'Bonus Rewards' includes monies earned as a Sign-up Reward or Tell-A-Friend Bonus."
